Our Managing Director, Philippe Snel, attended the inaugural Global Lawyers Forum in Guangzhou this week. The GLF is aiming to become the premier gather of Chinese and foreign lawyers in China, covering topics such as legal services related to the Belt and Road Initiative, science and technology, cross-border investment, international trade and compliance, international commercial dispute resolution, public legal services and social responsibility. Philippe was glad to speak about the development and implementation of the EU Trade Secrets Directive, and how it impacts EU/China business, ultimately concluding that companies now have much more certainty when it comes to taking the right precautions to protect their trade secrets, and can be much better prepared for litigation going forward.
