The end of the year brings a busy November for DaWo. We’re happy to announce four upcoming events this month, with even more to come in December.

1.Investment Opportunities in Abu Dhabi: China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone (Nov. 20th)

DaWo will be hosting a general information meeting in cooperation with Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Cooperation and Investment Company (JOCIC), regarding the newly established China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Abu Dhabi. Operated by JOCIC, the Zone is supported by high level leadership of both China and UAE, and is therefore well positioned to attract outbound investment from Chinese companies. At this joint event with JOCIC, the reputable law firm Al Suwaidi & Company, from UAE will provide an update on relevant regulations in Abu Dhabi. DaWo and Al Suwaidi & Company are both member firms of the global network ISFIN. This interesting event is by invite only.

2.Leiden Alumni China End of the Year Event (Nov. 20th)

Following the success of the first event in June, our three Leiden (The Netherlands) LLM graduates at DaWo have set up the Leiden Alumni China Chapter and formed a Working Group with other alumni. The second event in Shanghai is scheduled to be held on Nov. 20th and will be sponsored by Leiden University. The response for this event was overwhelming and was in no time fully booked! Follow the Chapter’s official LinkedIn page and/or WeChat group and stay up- to- date on all future announcements.

3.Office Visit with Fudan University Law Students (Nov. 24th)

On November 24, DaWo will welcome a group of highly motivated law students from the prestigious Fudan University in Shanghai. They are enrolled in the course International Contracting lectured by our Counsel and associate professor Carmen Bakas. The students will have the chance to meet several DaWo lawyers and learn more about working at an international law firm. The event will include a tour of our offices and insight into the work of a legal intern. Carmen will also invite a CEO from an international company as a guest speaker to address the students.

4.Risk, Resilience, Reputation: Agile Strategy for Foreign Executives in China: Avoid Personal Liabilities & Navigate the Evolving Landscape (Nov. 27th)

DaWo is excited to announce the second iteration of our RRR Breakfast series on Nov. 27th. This time, the breakfast meeting will feature DaWo Partner Criminal law and Compliance Xing Hu and General Manager China Mr. Jonathan Chapon of Abacare Group Limited, an international insurance broker. Mrs. Hu and Mr. Chapon will discuss China’s regulatory framework for personal liabilities of foreign executives. There are still some spots available.
